«Το παράπονο του Ποσειδώνα», το εντυπωσιακό show των Roberto Braham, Μαρίνας Κατσαρή και Βαγγέλη Γέττου, με μεγάλες φορετές κούκλες και ζωντανή μουσική ταξιδεύει στην Κύπρο με τρεις παραστάσεις, Λευκωσία 17.6 (ARTos House, 19.30), Αγία Νάπα 18.6 (Δημοτικό Μουσείο THALASSA, 19.30) και Ύψωνα 19.6 (Πάρκο Ελαιών, 19.30).
Οι άνθρωποι καταστρέφουν τους Θθημώνες Ποσειδωνίας μιας παραλίας της Μεσογείου για θεωρώντας ότι τα «φύκια» την βρωμίζουν. Αυτό προκαλεί την οργή του θεού της θάλασσας, του Ποσειδώνα. Ο θεός του Ολύμπου κάνει την εμφάνισή του με απροσδόκητο τρόπο και προσπαθεί να πείσει τους θνητούς για την σημασία της διατήρησης των μεσογειακών παραλιακών οικοσυστημάτων αλλά και της ζωής του βυθού. Ο Roberto Braham και η Μαρίνα Κατσαρή, το κουκλοπαικτικό ντουέτο της παράστασης «Τα πιόνια του βασιλιά», ενώνουν τις δυνάμεις τους με τον επί σκηνής μουσικό Βαγγέλη Γέττο και παρουσιάζουν μια…θεότρελη ιστορία για την προστασία της Ποσειδωνίας, των παραλιών και της θάλασσας, γεμάτη αστείες συναντήσεις και ανατροπές. Η παράσταση δεν έχει λόγια και έτσι, είναι προσβάσιμη τόσο στο ελληνόφωνο όσο και στο αλλόγλωσσο κοινό.
Η παράσταση βασίζεται στο ομώνυμο παραμύθι του Βαγγέλη Γέττου που έχει εκδοθεί από την Enalia Physis Environmental Research Centre και χρηματοδοτείται από το πρόγραμμα POSBEMED2 – «Διακυβέρνηση και διαχείριση συστημάτων Ποσειδωνίας και αμμοθινών στη Μεσόγειο» (INTERREG MED 2014-2020)

“Poseidon’s complaint”
- a puppet show with body puppets & live music-

The witty puppet show created by Roberto Braham, Marina Katsari and Vaggelis Gettos, entitled “Poseidon’s complaint” is now ready to begin its journey! First stop: The island of Cyprus for three shows only! Nicosia 17/6, 19.30, at ARTos House, in Ayia Napa 18/6, 19.30, at the Municipal Museum THALASSA and last but not least, in Ipsonas 19/6, 19.30, at the Park of the Olive Trees.
A worker was instructed to remove Posidonia oceanica banquettes from a beach in the Mediterranean in order to “clean it” as Posidonia is considered by many to be something ugly and filthy. As soon as Poseidon, the ancient Greek god of the sea sees him, he becomes furious and a little bit out of control! Poseidon decides to make himself visible in a very unexpected way in order to attempt to convince him (and the rest of us mortals), firstly of the importance of maintaining the natural beauty of the Mediterranean coast and secondly, to explain -the almost unknown- significance of Posidonia oceanica in the marine environment.
The two puppeteers, Roberto Braham and Marina Katsari (known for their puppet show “The King’s pawns”), join forces with musician Vaggelis Gettos and are excited to invite everyone to enjoy a show, which aims to tell the story of the importance of the protection of the underwater -and not only- life, and to especially highlight the importance of Posidonia oceanica, also known as the lungs of the Mediterranean in a very unique and certainly, very entertaining way!
This show is based on the children’s book “Poseidon’s complaint”, written by Vaggelis Gettos and illustrated by Miranda Verkade which has been recently published by NGO Enalia Physis Environmental Research Centre and funded by the project POSBEMED 2 - “Governance and management of Posidonia beach- dune systems across the Mediterranean” (INTERREG MED 2014-2020).
The show has no dialogue so it is accessible to all puppet, sea and music lovers of all ages and nationalities!
